Five Yummy (last minute) Halloween Treats and Recipes

Forget the tricks: I’m concentrating on the Halloween treats. New recipes are fun to try, but I like to mix them with some of my favorite tried-and-true Halloween treats. This year I’ll be treating family and friends with:

1.  Candy Corn and Peanuts Mix

I’m a sucker for candy corn: I can (and have) eat the whole bag. But a few years ago a friend clued me into mixing candy corn with equal parts of salted peanuts. It tastes just like a PayDay candy bar! Plus, the orange and yellow and brown colors are great Halloween decor. I like to take the mix to tailgates too!

money saving tip: Shop all your favorite candies (like candy corn) and save with Candy Galaxy coupon codes.

2. Scarecrow Crunch

Every Christmas I make a big batch of Holiday Puppy Chow, so I was happy to see this Halloween version: why didn’t I think of that? Family blogger Just Make Stuff has an easy recipe for Scarecrow Crunch that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

money saving tip: Get your favorite candies for your upcoming holiday parties and save when you use Candy.com coupon codes.

3. Pumpkin Pretzels

Sweet and Salty, orange and green: the perfect Halloween snack. Butter With a Side of Bread had the cute and clever pumpkin pretzel recipe that I can’t wait to try: I’m going to gift a batch too!

money saving tip: Shop gourmet cooking gifts for the holidays and save with cooking.com coupon codes.

4. Butternut Squash and Apple Soup

I’ve been making this soup for a long time, adapted from several recipes until I got the taste my family loves. I shared it a few years ago on ShesShoppingNow, and now HaveDeals fans can enjoy one of my favorite tastes of Fall. Its a nice orange color: perfect for a quick and easy Halloween supper. I serve it with toasted cheese sandwiches.

5. Pumpkin Muffins

Start the day of with a Halloween breakfast: I’m baking Pumpkin Muffins from food blogger Big Red Kitchen. Only 2 ingredients: its a fast and easy (and sort of healthy) start to a festive day. She made a pumpkin cake, but I like the ease of muffins with the apple cider glaze.

money saving tip: holiday baking can be expensive! HaveDeals saves you money with printable grocery coupons: save money buying groceries to treats and meals for your family and friends!
